In late February (which seems like a distant memory now given the dramatic effects of COVID-19), our team ventured across to Las Vegas for the annual Photobooth Expo. This is the third consecutive year that the Snappy Photobooths team have visited this colossal expo (which was hosted at South Point Hotel) to view the latest and greatest in Photobooth technologies.
Prior visits have always been beneficial and have allowed us to bring back to Australia newly developed technologies fulfilling the cravings of innovation from of our valued clients here in Australia and New Zealand.
We felt it was our duty to provide a summary of our observations. Our summary highlights three main trends that stood out from the Photobooth Expo 2020’s event.
Craze 1 – 360° Photobooths
A thrilling innovative 360° video booth that allows the opportunity to create excitement and social engagement. A simple set up with one camera that rotates 360 degrees around a platform to produce stunning high speed & slow-motion videos ready for instant sharing. This machine type was demonstrated at Photobooth Expo 2019 however it appears that suppliers have multiplied like gremlins, taking advantage of the surge in demand of these products.
Craze 2 – Technology Packed Photobooths
More evident than ever are slick Photobooth designs jammed with awesome technologies such as augmented reality features, powerful social media sharing capabilities and easy branding opportunities. Recent trends demonstrate that our clients (especially corporate ones) are looking for solutions to help achieve marketing objectives. These formidable Photobooths are truly next level and will quench the thirst of our clients looking for a unique and special activation.
Craze 3 – Slim-lined Machinery Is a Must
Long gone are the days where we used to deliver a solid steel 165kg Photobooth. The trend has been small, elegant, high-technology yet durable machinery. This year we saw the previously clunky designed Mirror Booth join their slimmer machinery cousins. Super producer, Fotomaster is scheduled to release a new Mirror Booth with external LED lights and is super thin.
In addition, many other amazing products and services were also exhibited at Photobooth Expo 2020.
The dramatic slow-down from Coronavirus is being felt by all suppliers within the entertainment industry. Whilst this is a challenging period for all (from a health and economic perspective), Snappy Photobooths are whole-heartedly committed to further invest in new innovation and advance our drive of best-in-class processes to ensure we can introduce these come the time events are permitted to recommence.
Throughout this COVID-19 period, Snappy Photobooths will be available for our clients and can be reached via our usual channels of email and telephone.
